This is the back of a family photo, when I was about 7 months old. Radlje ob Dravi is a small town in Slovenia about which I know nothing. It is a studio photograph; Foto VERONIK J. reads on the stamp.

I can’t help but think what happened to this studio, who is J. Veronik? Has the studio, or the negative archive, survived last 40 years? And the photographer? Any history, or story?

I was born in Slovenia, not far away from Radlje ob Dravi, but moved to Sarajevo when I was 4. I have no friends there, not even memories of Slovenia and, strangely, I never went back.

I wonder, if the readers of this blog would pass this post around, would it eventually reach someone who would be able to answer some of the questions above?
