Inspiration: Henryk Gorecki
Henryk Gorecki died today. His Symphony No. 3 or Symphony of Sorrowful Songs must be one of the saddest and most beautiful pieces of music ever written.
This CD was my only knowledge of him and I’ve never looked further; until today, I didn’t even know whether Gorecki is among the dead or the living. But the news of his death today saddened me very much. As if, for a brief moment, while my brain processed the news, he came back from the dead only to die immidiately.
Listen to the Symphony No.3 and it will make you cry, due to either the joy of being exposed to such a beautiful music or the sorrow it casts.
